STEP 0
Before you begin: what the simulator is
The simulator is a practice market. You see real stock prices and real charts, but every trade you
place uses pretend money. Nothing you do can lose (or win) real money.
There are three versions. Each one works the same way and has the same buttons:
Tool
What you practise with
GPS-AUTOTRADE India
Indian shares (NSE / BSE), Indian indices such as NIFTY 50 and SENSEX, prices in ₹.
GPS-AUTOTRADE World Stocks
Shares from the major world markets (United States, Europe, Asia and more).
GPS-AUTOTRADE Global
Stocks, commodities and currencies.
Inside each tool there are two modules:
- Technical Analysis — live lists, charts, Practice Mode and paper trading. This is the “trading simulator” part and most of this guide.
- Fundamental Analysis — sectors, company scores, stock reports and comparisons. Covered in Step 13.
Important: GPS-AUTOTRADE is for learning only. Prices come from Yahoo Finance and can be up
to about 15 minutes late. The words BULLISH and BEARISH describe what a chart is doing; they are never advice to buy or sell.
Every practice trade is your own decision.
STEP 1
Create your account
It takes about two minutes. You need an email address and a mobile number.
- Press REGISTER at the top of this page and choose
the tool you want to learn with.
- Fill in your first name, last name, email, a password and your year of birth
(you must be 18 or older). Tick the small robot check and press REGISTER.
- We email you a 6-digit code. Type it in, together with your mobile number with country code
(for example +91 for India). Your free days start at that moment.
- You are taken to the Dashboard. Well done — you are in.
No email? Look in Spam or Promotions, wait a minute, then press Send a new code. The code works for 30 minutes.
Forgot your password? Press Forgot password? on the sign-in page and we email you a reset link.
One free trial per email and per mobile number. Your account works on up to 2 devices (for example
your phone and your laptop), but only one at a time: signing in on one signs the other out. Want to use a third device,
or changed your phone? Write to support and we'll switch it for you. Tip: a different browser, a private/incognito
window, or clearing your browser data counts as a new device — so stick to one browser on each device.
STEP 2
The Dashboard: your home page
The Dashboard shows how many free days you have left and gives you two big cards.

Tip: rest your mouse on any button for a second to see a short explanation.
STEP 4
The left panel: ready-made lists of stocks
The left panel is a library of lists. Each list picks out stocks that match one idea, for example “biggest risers today”.
Each group heading has its own small button to open or close it:

- Click ⌂ Default page to go back to your watchlist.
In the table title row you also see Hide header / Show header. It hides the grey description line and the column-title row so more stocks fit on screen.
STEP 5

STEP 7
BULLISH and BEARISH reads (Strategy Bias)
The tool watches four well-known intraday strategies on every stock and tells you when they line up.
BULLISHBEARISHNEUTRAL
- The four strategies: opening-range breakout (9:15–9:30), EMA + gap (15-min), reversal day, and gap + VWAP (15-min). Each has its own BULLISH and BEARISH list under Default Strategies.
- All Live Signals lists every stock with at least one strategy active. Agree shows how many of the four agree.
- Strategy Bias gives one read per stock: A = all four agree, B = three agree and the fourth is silent. BULLISH also needs the price above today's VWAP; BEARISH below it. New reads appear only between 9:30 and 14:30.
- Market filter (drop-down above the BIAS column): when NIFTY 50 is up, BEARISH reads are skipped; when it is down, BULLISH reads are skipped.
- Stock-moving filter: only show a read if the stock has already moved a set amount (off / 1% / 1.5% / 2%).
A read describes what the chart is doing right now. It is information to learn from, never an instruction to trade.
STEP 8
Practice the Market: replay a real day
The real market is only open a few hours a day. Practice Mode lets you replay a real past day, candle by candle, whenever you like.
- Click 🎯 Practice the Market.
- A list of past trading days opens (up to the last 100). Pick a day.
- Press Start practice session. The whole tool switches to that day: prices, lists, charts, Strategy Bias and the index box.
- A purple banner shows the date and the pretend clock:
Practice Mode — replaying 7 Oct, simulated time 09:16 Exit Practice
and the green tag 🎯 PRACTICE · 7 Oct · 09:16 stays on screen.
- New 5-minute candles arrive at the real pace (about one every 5 minutes). The chart starts with the day before already drawn, so it looks like a normal chart.
- Place practice orders exactly as in Step 9. They go into a separate Practice account, so your normal paper-trading record is not touched.
- Press Exit Practice on the banner to return to the live market at any time.
At first you will see about 60 days to choose from. The list grows by one day every trading day until it reaches 100.
STEP 9
Paper trading: practise placing orders
Paper trading is a pretend trading account with pretend money (for example ₹10,00,000). No broker and no real orders.
Your first practice order, step by step
- Open a stock's chart and press BUY or SELL (or the small B / S on a watchlist row). The two buttons always look the same; the tool never suggests which to press.
- The order window opens. Choose the product:
MISCNC
MIS = intraday (closed automatically at 15:15). CNC = carry it to the next days.
- Choose the order type:
MARKETLIMITSLSL-M
- MARKET — fills straight away at the latest price.
- LIMIT — waits until the price reaches your price.
- SL-M — waits for a trigger price, then fills at whatever the price is.
- SL — needs a trigger and a limit price; after the trigger it acts like a LIMIT order.
- Enter the quantity. Optionally set a stop-loss and a target. The window shows the margin needed and the risk : reward.
- Press the big button at the bottom: BUY or SELL.
- A pop-up confirms “order is placed”. A MARKET order is filled at once and a second pop-up says “executed”.
Orders work 9:15–15:30 on weekdays (any time in Practice Mode). Brokerage charges are not included. There is no market depth (bid / ask) because the prices come from Yahoo Finance.

A completely fresh account: deletes positions, orders and the Trade Journal. Settings are kept.
In Practice Mode both reset buttons only reset the separate Practice account.
STEP 10
Backtest: how would the reads have done?
Backtesting replays about 60 past days and checks what would have happened if you had followed every Strategy Bias read.
- Press Backtest ↗ in the top row.
- Optionally change the stop-loss %, target %, amount, slippage, filters and entry time window.
- Press Run backtest. The first run of the day takes 1–3 minutes.
- Read the results: win rate, profit / loss, profit factor, drawdown, longest losing streak, an equity curve and every trade. Download CSV saves them.
- Change one setting at a time and run again to see what it changes.
Past results never promise future results. The backtest includes intraday charges and slippage to keep it realistic.
STEP 11
My Strategies (add-on)
Build your own BULLISH / BEARISH rule instead of the four ready-made ones. This is an add-on; if the page shows a locked message, contact support.
- Open My Strategies from the left panel. It opens in a new tab.
- Pick one of 19 strategy types (moving averages, momentum, breakouts, VWAP / volume, candle patterns) and fill in its numbers.
- Choose a timeframe: 5-min, 15-min or Daily. Optionally add extra conditions (trend filter, time window, second timeframe, cool-off, market filter).
- Press Save. The page then watches your stocks and shows the latest signal, refreshed about every 20 seconds.
- Switch a saved strategy on / off, Edit it, or Delete it from the list below the builder.
- Use the Backtest part of the page to test your own rules (alone, or combined with AND / OR).
STEP 12
Searching for a stock
- Click the Search symbol… box above any table.
- Type one or two letters. A drop-down shows matching names, best matches first.
- Click a name, or use ↑ ↓ and Enter. Esc closes the list. Clear the box to see all stocks again.
